Ok, we've all heard of getty and a bunch of the big guys who charge "client prices" for images.

BUT, where do you go when you need photos on the cheap and can't shoot them yourself? Which are the best places that are free or have images for dirt?

I've found:
-istockphoto.com (images for $1-10)
-imageafter.com (free, but limited selection and lower quality photos)

All the free sites I've seen rarely have great photos. And if they do, it takes a lot of digging to find them---and even then, the photo will still be kinda sucky.

On the flip side, all the big stock photo sites charge a lot for their photos.

Hands down, the best place to get good quality photos really cheap is here:

I love this place. You get great photos at full resolution for $1.

do a flickr search, but turn on creative commons filter. you might find what you are looking for, with the only cost being acknowledgement

just make sure you check which CC license it is.
