hi,
i use a powerbook G4, and i use the Mail application for my emails (set up from email accounts such as orange / wanadoo etc...
This question has probably already beed asked a million times, but i can't find it on the forum, so here goes :
How can I retreive emails that i have deleted from my Mail application? One's that have been deleted from the inbox (or sent items), and then the trash box also cleared out. I can only find advice on software to retreive deleted 'files'.. but not sure this is the same as retreiving deleted 'emails'.
I saw that for windows there is something called the Advanced Outlook express email retreival software... is there something similar for Mac OS X ?
Thanks very much in advance

If you use a pop account to get your emails then an email is a file. So the tools mentioned for recovering deleted files would be the way to go.

Also more importantly if it is POP the email could well be still on the server, worth checking to see if they are there.

checking on the server???

so.. it was a wanadoo account... how on earth do I check on a server???
sorry.. i'm normally not completely thick when it comes to computers... but you've got me there :)

By checking on the server, I believe it's webmail.
Some auto delete once they're downloaded onto mail apps etc but it's still worth checking anyway.

Can you access the email account online, i.e. go to the wanadoo website and sign into the page.

gone from original account

ah yes..sorry, i see what you mean.. to connect to the real account on the internet right? no, i set in my preferences for all imported emails to be deleted when i open them in the Mail application...
any other way???

wHat about IMAP accounts? Trash is empty when you delete. Setting on the IMAP account are set not to clear out trash folder? Any ideas? Hope this isn't intruding on the original question.
