I don't do much editing of anything, but I WANT to start. I've began setting my MacBook up and it's already gotten to be a wallet breaker, but I have started and I need to finish or I won't.

So far I have.........

For pics and flash:

Adobe CS2 Premium Pack
- CS2
- Bridge
- Illustrator CS2
- InDesign CS2
- Go Live CS2

- Adobe Lightroom with plug ins

Macromedia
- Fireworks 8
- DreamWeaver 8
- Contribute
- Flash 8
- Flash 8 Video Encoder

For audio editing:

Logic Studio
- Logic Pro
- Main Stage
- Sound Studio
- Logic Node
- WaveBurner

For Text editing:

iWork 06
- Pages
- Keynote

Microsoft Office 08
- Word 08
- Excel 08
- Entourage 08
- PowerPoint 08
- Project Gallery 08

and I have iLife 06 for random small tasks.

Now I want to add a video editor that will be up to par with the rest of the software I have bought and I am in way too deep to go with something skimpy so I was thinking maybe Pinnacle Studio for video, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had recommendations before I took the plunge.

It would help if somehow I could use the programs together if need be so compatibility may play into the decision. Any ideas? :)

I'm quite happy with FinalCut Express.
But I will give iMovie 08 is shot when I will have bought a HD-recorder.

I was thinking of express, but wasn't sure if I'd actually use Pro or not. I try to buy premium packs incase I do need something in the future I haven't spent a brick only to come up short somewhere down the road. I wonder what functionality I'd lose going with express........

I still have my eye on Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11. I figure $129 is a cheap price considering what the end result could be doing it adobe style..... or even Final Cut Pro style ($1300), but I feel like I might be skimping too thin.

I was giving PRO a try a couple of years ago.

But I'm using it as hobby, so that I don't need the special hardware support, which makes PRO so much more expensive.
I don't miss anything so far.

Express was exactly what I was needing.

And you really don't dare to compare Apple software with a cheap Windows clone? :)

I am of course welcoming more feedback, but I THINK I am going to go with Final Cut Studio 5. :)

Edit: went with Final Cut Pro 5 from a local craiglister. :)
