I was deciding between the new Sony Walkman coming out, the Zune or an Ipod Touch. The Sony Walkman was on the top of my list...but, it seems my credit on Amazon would expire before it comes out. So I am going to get the Ipod Touch 32 gig with free 1gig Shuffle for $359. Not a bad deal I suppose...wish it came with better headphones though.

Anyways, I was curious about Applecare...is it worth it? I woldn't want a refurbished product if something was to go wrong with it. And do I have to purchase it right away with my product?

...and how do you register the product with Applecare? Whats required?

and last but not least..what is the expected life expectancy of the battery on the ipod touch?

and when are the second gen ipod touchs arriving?

I can only answer one of those questions...

the battery is supposedly good for 400 cycles before it's expected to start losing its charge capacity.

I've got a 32 GB, and so far, the battery life has been pretty good. It gets me through the day with some charge left over, and on the 3 days when I'm only out in the mornings (3 days in a row that is), it lasts me for all of those days before I have to charge it.

and does anyone have invisshield? does that intefere with the "touch" aspect of the ipod? and if you remove it...does it leave any residue?

so with applecare...would i be covered for 3 years total?

You are covered for two years from purchase.

There is no interference at all! That's why they make them.

And no, that one is known not to.. they use a type of static cling to stick on
