Am very close to buying my first iPhone and am looking at the 16GB version. Part of me however feels that maybe a 32GB (or bigger) 3G enabled version might be on the horizon. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

since the 16 gb iphone was just announced, i doubt we'll see a better, 3g phone until several months later. if i had to venture a guess, i'd say end of summer.

Yes. I work for AT&T (no kidding, I do) and it'll be out tomorrow. They'll also have a 64GB version to go along with it. And a nano iPhone. Don't go to sleep tonight.

ok, I can't post that and just let you believe it. No one here knows any more than what you can read on the front page of this website.

Citigroup thinks a 3G iPhone will be released in the second quarter, meaning they think it'll be out before July. A whole lotta info I read earlier this year said May or June. Therefore, it's a good possibility that a 3G iPhone will come within 4 months.

As for 32GB, who knows. That's my point of need (since my entire music library takes up about 13GB) so I'm waiting for that. In my opinion, I don't see Apple not releasing at least a 32GB 3G iPhone at $500. It's hard to gauge what the memory market will do, but I seriously can't see a huge addition like 3G without a storage bump.

In related opinions, I doubt the SSD option on the MBA will stay at $999 for long. I read about Samsung shooting for a 256GB SSD by sometime next year, so obviously there will be some price-dropping to make people want those things enough to dish out the $.

Since you say you're close to buying the 16gb, you might want to go ahead. Like others said, it will be at least several months before you see a new version of the iPhone which is likely to include 32gb but not guaranteed.

So there's a lot of ifs. If you can get by life without it for a few months and really could use the extra storage, then I would wait. It'll also be great to see what other functionality and improvements Apple is able to make to the next version.

Then again there's always the possibility of selling what you have now and putting that money towards the new version.

Post of the week right here. :)

Whats with all this spamming about 3G lately?

anywhere from early to may until dec. nobody except stevey and his team know details (if they do?)

go ahead and buy one now. you WON'T regret it.

Talk of 3G maybe spamming, but over in the uk we get all our sky channels (cable?) over 3g, so I can watch football cricket lost discovery etc live over it. Not sure if you get that over your edge?

I'm not sure about post of the week, perhaps most unhelpful c*ck of the week?? :D

If you've waited this long for an iPhone I don't think waiting for the next update will hurt you...I've been waiting for the next iPhone update since the first iPhone was announced. I just try to avoid buying 1st gen products - but I almost wish I had gotten the first iPhone but now that I've waited this long I might as well hold out

The same answer applies to the 13 million other threads with this exact same question. This question is asked multiple times every day. The answer is: NO ONE FRICKIN' KNOWS! Gah!
