I am a heavy texter, about 1,000 a month now. And there are some common words I use that the iPhone automatically "corrects" and makes it into something I don't want. Post some of the common things you spell your way and don't want corrected, but still are. Here are a few of mine:

"lol" turns to "LOL."
"kinda" turns to "kinds" or "Linda."
"noo" turns to "nop."

I type mostly in Spanish so you can imagine... Thank god for the option to disable it.

ya when i type in polish well its even more of a pain there are names that are really long and have letters that the iphone doesnt even have, love that feature that you can turn it off eh but hey my iphone was stolen so *crying in a corner

if i'm not careful, i'll get "us" instead of "is". drives me nuts every time.

how do you not accept? I love the fact that it accepts with the space button, it fixes a lot. Is the only way to say no, that little x beside it?

Every once in a while I'll type in "text talk", and it'll correct it to some bizarre acronyms, like ANS or DMK or RWW. It's really annoying, cus they all don't mean anything.

you can just tap the whole word, you dont have to fish for that little X to deny the correction

How do you disable it? When I'm using my language (Tagalog) it's really hard with auto correct.

You have to have a hacked iphone (but I'm fairly sure that you have one, as you are using tagalog), and install the fix named KB2 that you can find in installer.app under Tweaks 1.1.1.

I'm on firmware 1.1.4, and it still worked for me by the way.

my name.......

Jody turns to 'body' !!!!!!!!!!!

So annoying!

I wish the iphone had some sort of learning in its text and email.

I really, really, really, really wish there was a way to have custom word corrections or the ability to delete certain things from the dictionary. I believe the Blackberry has this, I know the Sidekick did.

One that I get ALLLL the time that drives me insane is cpl (couple) turning into VPL.

Another one that pops up pretty often is 'just' becoming 'judy'. I sent my wife an email once and she replied "whos judy?" I had NO idea what she was talking about until I read what Id sent her.
