Hey,

on my pc I use a tool called screenprint32 v3 and was awesome but it does not work on the mac. Anybody know a good alternative to this program?

Grab. It's in your applications folder. Although it's easier just to use keyboard shortcuts.
 
Command-Shift-3 is a full screen shot
Command-Shift-4 will allow you to make a selection, if you hit spacebar before clicking, you can select just the window to copy.

In Windows use F-13/Print Screen, and paste it into Paint and save it.
