I've been looking to switch from my windows desktop to a macbook for a while now. I've decided to offer up my desktop for trade. However, being that I can't post in the market place, I can't get any help with the offer I've gotten.

I was offered a macbook with:

1.83 Core Duo
2gb Ram
60gb HD
Combo Drive
1yr left on Warranty
Some misc items and Tiger Install Discs
External case has some minor scuffs and scratches

The notebook has some scuffs and scratches on it. What would this be worth? I've been going the the marketplace the past few days checkin out the prices on these and I've estimated this would be maybe 600ish? Any hlpe would be appreciated, and I'm sorry if I'm not allowed to post something like this here. I really just don't want to get ripped off as I have no idea what macs go for.

Thanks guys!

I'm glad that you are making the switch to the mac! Get ready to actually enjoy your computing experience! I'd say 600 for that MacBook would be a decent asking price. Usually to gage this type of thing I check out ebay to see what comparable machines are going for. If money is not a total deal breaker, you may think about spending a little more and just buying a refurbished MacBook from Apple. It's cheaper than a brand new one and you can have a larger hard drive, faster processor - not to mention Leopard. Good luck with your purchase.

Well it comes with leopard installed, but no discs I guess. My desktop is a gaming rig that I figure is worth about 800-850, so I'm going to ask for $250 in cash as well.

Thanks a lot for your reply!
