Hey everyone!

I'm going to buy a MacBook soon, but I'm not really sure what to do. I've read many other threads already, but I still don't know, so I was wondering if anyone's got some advice for me.

I'm in doubt between the 2,1GHz and the 2,4GHz.
I use my computer for downloading, music, films, typing, surfing and stuff like that. I burn a DVD from time to time as well.
Which is the best one to buy? Is there a big difference between the two?

And also, is it a good thing to buy one at a private store (as in a store which has got nothing to do with Apple) or is it better to buy it online?

Thanks guys!!! :)

Thanks for your advice!
It's really difficult if you don't know anything about computers really :D

The 2.4GHz is a far better value.

For $200 more you get:
- A faster processor (2.1 vs. 2.4)
- A DVD burner
- More RAM (1GB vs. 2GB)
- Bigger hard drive (120GB vs. 160GB)

The RAM will make multi-tasking smoother, and make much more of a difference than the faster processor.

Cool guys thanks!
I live in Europe though, so I think I'm gonna get it from a proper mac store. Amazon is more American isn't it?

Any more advice by any chance? :D

Google 'uk apple resellers'. I did that, found a deal and saved £180 on a previous gen macbook. Upgrade the ram after you've got it from crucial.com (unless you go for the current 2.4). There's no need to buy the current model unless its new features are essential, which they're not for your needs it would seem. I've done both, and saving all that cash is much more satisfying than having the latest machine!

Also, don't buy applecare straight away. Wait a while and find the best deal you can. you'll save a lot.
