Hi,
I own a Synology DS207+ and now an 1TB TimeCapsule as well.
I wonder if anyone else owns a TimeCapsule and another NAS as well?
TimeCapsule is far better in terms of directory browsing.
I have folders with a lot of items and it takes quite a while on the Synology NAS to browse the content when the directory is selected (approx. 1 min).
With TimeCapsule it's almost immediatly there. It doesn't make a difference whether being connected through afp or smb.
Furthermore TimeCapsule is always visible in the finder like any other mac in the net.
I always have to "Command-K" the NAS or put it into the startup-items.
Transfering data from the Synology to the TimeCapsule, is faster than the other direction (no Raid option used).
So I wouldn't go for another NAS solution than TimeCapsule in the future unless you need RAID...but I hope for ZFS, so that an external eSata can bring this kind of redundancy.
Or is there anybody who doesn't see a performance difference between a Synology and TimeCapsule, so that I should contact Synology for support?
