Hi all,

Hope all is well, am about to get a new Mac Pro (first mac ever) - am planning to get 2 Samsung f1 750 drives.

1st disk - will hold the operating system and other apps
2nd disk - will hold photo's etc
3rd disk - ie 320 stock disk - may install windows

Just wanted to know I how I would go about installing the operating system on the samsung? - sorry if this has been posted before but cant seem to find anything.

Do I need to format the stock disk first then install Leopard on my new samsung drive? and if so is the install process straight forward

Many thanks -

just format the disk as MS-DOS (FAT) in Disk Utility, startup the Windows installation disk by holding "C" on startup, format the disk to NTFS in the Windows installer and then install.

unless you need to run Boot Camp Assistant and partition your main disk first to modify the EFI to enable booting BIOS and then remove the Boot Camp partition... im not sure

take all drives out and just put in your first F1, then insert Leopard disk and install leopard.
install 2nd F1 drive and 3rd (old) stock drive

go into DISK UTILITY and format the old 320gb stock drive

that should get you going

Thanks guys (",)

Much appreciated, cant wait for it to arrive
