alright so i have a new macbook pro got it about 2 weeks ago. Love it. I have age of empires II for mac and when i boot it up this error shows up - "Could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw."

I have a nvidia 8600gm with 256 dedicated ram.. why isn't the game working..?

AOE is a great game. You should know that you might want to hold off on the upgrade to 10.5.2 because currently gameranger cannot support AOE on that OS.

Sorry for digging up this thread, but it was only just pointed out to me.

desi22601, there's another thread about the AoE2 graphics problem here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/410471/

There is no solution for this problem yet.

Just to clarify, pianodude123, the 10.5.2 issues with AoE2 make the game network-incompatible with other players using any previous OS version (the game very quickly goes out-of-synch). This isn't related to GameRanger itself, and it's a different issue to the graphics problem.

Scott.

i figured it out you just have to download this updater and then update the game

p.s unfortunately if you have lion on your computer i don't think it will work

download link: ***********/2XIqW

i hope this helped
