SMS Read receipt - it is possible

Just been made aware of this..

It only works on O2 UK

Place the following before our sms message.

*0# AND THEN TYPE YOUR MESSAGE

The receiving party will not see the *0# part of the message, once it has been received you will automatically get a read receipt back.
 
That's odd, since all my phones have an SMS menu, and in this menu lurks a small option called "Delivery receipts". Every time a message is delivered, a delivery receipt is displayed on my phone.

No way for read receipt, though. Short Message Service doesn't support that.
