Hey guys,

Is it just me, or is it extremely frustrating that almost four months in to the UK iPhone release, there is still no availability of ringtones from iTunes? I'm finding it somewhat difficult to understand why it's available in the US but not in the UK.

As many might say, there are alternative routes to having custom ringtones on the iPhone, however I am running Windows (so iToner is out the window), and the majority of my iTunes library is full with protected iTunes music.

Surely there must be some information surrounding the issue. I initially assumed that the Uk would have to wait for the ability of ringtones for the same period of time between the US and UK release, however that is no longer apparent.

Sorry for my rant!

yeah that seems odd to me, have you tried nakko dot com you should be able to make your own pretty easily there i think

I'm in the UK (on Windows) & I make my own ringtones using the following instructions I found on this very site (& it's pretty easy to be fair):

-Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing
-Importing Using: AAC Encoder -> Settings: Custom -> Stereo Bit Rate: 40kbps -> Ok.
-Open Library -> right click on the song -> Get Info -> Options.
-Select your start time and end time, ~30 seconds should work.
-Right click on the song -> Convert to AAC
-Open up your itunes music folder where the song is stored -> rename the extension from .m4a to .m4r.
-Double click on the .m4r song and it should convert automatically into your ringtone folder and then sync and you're done.

I agree though, it is annoying how the UK gets overlooked once again:(
