Well, what happened is my cousin sat on my open macbook, and well, SNAP.

It's too late to undo it, and I doubt Apple will do this for free, so how much can I expect to pay for a replacement hinge and lid?

It won't be particularly expensive, probably about $100. Call and ask.
OK. I'll get them to pay for it, no matter how much it is.

The screen is acting up though (flickering), as is the iSight (green light fickers, camera doesn't turn on).

If you need a new LCD and iSight that will be more expensive than just the casing. But I'd call and ask and if you want report back the cost.

Well, I don't think it's too badly damaged. Will have to wait and see...

UPDATE:

I got a quote from the shop. It will be £560 (around $1000) to repair, due to the LCD, backlight and casing needing to be replaced.

So I'm wondering, do I sell it, and see what money I can get to try and replace it, or pay that and get it fixed?

I'd sell it. Think of it like a car, if you know its been in an accident, you probably don't want it, because it could lead to other problems. But thats my two cents.

Yeah. What I have been thinking. But, how much money do you think I'd get? It's just really I'd want to replace it with another Macbook of some kind.

It's $1200 flat-fee for accidental repairs. (They basically give you a new machine instead)

Yeah. That's around what I got told. One thing though, Apple isn't fixing this. It's some shop in Esher that Apple said was certified. It's just the only Apple shop near me doesn't do repairs, apparently.

It's just at first they said £50, since they thought it was just a matter of it being out of place or something, but then when they took it apart, they found it to be more severe than that.
