Ok, Google earth and ichat have both stopped working, probably others. It seems to have started when I did the last security update for my Intel macbook, with leopard a few days ago. Since then neither of those applications have worked.

Not only that but when I start my computer, not only does it take much longer, but it starts up different then before. It starts with the normal white apple screen, then goes to a blue screen, then goes back to the apple screen with two mouse cursors. One that doesn't move and stuck in the upper left hand corner and the other that I can move around freely. After that it goes to my desktop and starts up.

I have rebooted many times since the problem started, also I have tried deleting the PRAM, and repairing disk permissions, non have helped. Applications that I know still work are Firefox, Microsoft word, and itunes. Any help would be appreciated.

Intel Macbook with 1 gig of ram and a 2ghz processor, also OS X 10.5.2

I think your hard drive is probably dying/dead to be honest, but it could simply be your OS has got corrupted or something, possibly by the security update. Make sure you have a full back up your data and do an Erase and Install of Leopard. Make sure you keep the backup in case its a hardware issue.
