Problem with iMovie '08

I'm having a continuous problem with iMovie '08.

First, when I open it, the fan speed increases notably. Then, iMovie bounces for numerous times, and then stops. There isn't any blue light under it either, but it says that it is not responding.

This happens every time I open iMovie '08. I have already tried installing, but when I reinstall it, almost no applications can work anymore, so I reinstall it again, and almost all applications now work EXCEPT for iMovie '08.

Is there anyway anyone can help me fix this..plz??
