radeon x1800xl >, =, or < 8600m (videocard question)

im wondering if the videocard in the macbook pro is better then what i got in my desktop. Im probably gonna upgrade the videocard to an 9600 for like less then 200 but for now im wondering how my current stack up against the one in the mbp
 
Do you have the X1800 right now? 'cause going to a 9600 is a downgrade, unless you mean a nVidia 9600... which would be faster than the MBP. The ATi X1800 is relatively slower than the 8600GT.
