I have a video phone that requires certain ports open to work. To make my life easier, I simply set it up to be default host. This worked flawlessly when I had an AirPort Extreme Base Station (802.11n).
However, I sold the AEBS and got a Time Capsule, and did the same set up (enabled default host, specified a default host address, and matched that address on my video phone). Now it can access the 'net (it discovers updates fine, tells me if I've missed a call, etc). But when someone tries to call, it doesn't ring, and when I call someone, they can see video from my side, but I can't see any video from their side.
I unplugged my video phone and plugged it directly into the cable modem to test. It works perfectly, so it's definitely the Time Capsule that's causing the problem.
Can anyone help me with this? Is default host treated differently with Time Capsule?
