Trouble bringing in raw files into photoshop

hi guys i just bought a nikon d60....and i take my pics in NEF raw plus JPEG but my photoshop CS3 will not read the NEF file....nor will lightroom or aperture.....only nikon transfer only gets the files into my computer....CS3 is suppose to have a camera raw plugin, but i dont understand why it wont read my raw files...any help will be appreciated, Thanks
