Advice about colors for painting my bedroom / office (keep it classy, MR)

so...
I want to paint my room.
i have no clue what colors go together or things of such nature so i need your help as to what colors i should pick.

I want like a cigar lounge / classy office colors.
contemporary colors, similar to those large offices you see on tv with all the dark wood ( for some reason there is always one of those green lamps)

i have really good lighting and a large window.
there is two more lights above the camera


there is a chair rail along my entire room.
i have acoustical foam stuff (popcorn ceiling) ceiling so i cannot paint it
i have a large wood corner desk maid out of ... (my father made it and is no longer around ) this is a picture of the two different colors of wood (ignore the remote)


the room is fairly large, its the largest bedroom in the house, its more long than wide.
right now there is two colors separated by the chair rail
i was thinking of keeping that idea with the colors
i could paint the chair rail also
