I just ordered my first mac and im trying to see what mac programs will do what the windows programs I had used to do and im down to one last program...MS OneNote. I use this a ton and I was looking at Circus Ponies Notebook and it looks like it fits the bill perfectly. Anyone have experience on this program that they are willing to share?

I used OneNote to keep track of various projects and in these projects I need text, images, etc all together in one place. I dont have to share my notebooks with anyone but myself.

I know the obvious answer would be to just download the trial but I am in a weird situation (way to long to explain) and in short, I cant download it, I just have to buy it.

there are a smorgasboard of thos programs with the gtd trend, try searching at osx.iusethis.com

I am just finishing up the trial this week. I am pretty sure I'll buy it. It is a nice, versatile app. I am using it to manage my freelance clients (don't have too many, not sure how it would hold up with a lot of clients), and some other random projects. It is working out great. I also keep to-do lists, and some writing projects together in Notebook. It's really nice to have that info in one place. The indices are very powerful. You can perform really advanced searches, so if you can find what you need even if your aren't that organized in how you set up your Notebook. Nice interface. I have couple of small issues with the interface, but I suspect that they will be ironed out in future versions. Even if they are not, I will keep using the program. Look at their website closely. I have found that it does everything that they say (I haven't tried uploading to my server yet, but that's a pretty sweet feature). It's easy to drag and drop images in, create internal and external links, and drop in clips from the web. You can also drop aliases in. I hope this helps a little bit. I think it could be used in interesting ways that I'm not thinking of.

Also, a number of people mention Voodoo Pad in similar threads. I don't know much about it, but you might want to look it up: http://flyingmeat.com/voodoopad/

I am confident that Notebook will work for me after the trial session. Good luck with your decision!
