So the easter bunny brings my daughter A mac spongebob game. I install on her g3 running 10.2.8. finishes up and I try to run it. Crashes again crashes. Read the box and it says 10.3.9 or higher... What the!#@!#.. I have an extra copy of Tiger but it says it is for 600mhz or higher G3, hers is a 500mhz. So will it work? I was going to super duper clone her harddrive just in case. But if it doesn't work I don't have the 10.2.8 OS install disks to reinstall if something goes wrong. Does Super Duper make an exact copy of everything, so I could just take the external drives partition with the clone and throw it back on the G3? Could I take that clone and throw it on another G3 also?

Thanks,

BCS

Generally, yes, you can do this, but it becomes increasingly less likely to work the more dissimilar the source and destination machines are.

Well, I have an exact clone of a 2.2GHz MacBook running on a Power Mac G4. Chances are, if this works, you'll be fine.

Thanks. So 10.4 should upgrade on the G3 , although it's only 500mhz. good to hear. I tried to install tiger on the older G3. I think it's 333mhz, but it messed it up good. It can still boot to classic which was on there originally, but the screen is different colors. One time it's red tint on everything, reboot and there's a blue tint over everything. Before trying to install tiger 9 ran fine without any tints on the screen. Any clue?

No 333MHZ G3 officially supports Tiger, which is probably why.
