Ugh. My 2.2GHz black MacBook with Leopard is acting up. I am currently upstairs, and the router is downstairs. I get three out of four AirPort bars, but the internet is REALLY slow. On my iBook, 1.33GHz G4, it is super fast, and I get all four bars. I had read that the MacBook gets great reception, but... WTF?

Any ideas, O genius MR forum community?

Have you installed all of the latest 10.5 updates?

Well, I usually ignore them, so I don't know. I have installed 10.5.2, if that helps.

Any idea if AirPort/Time Machine Update 1.0 will help me?

My reception has been worse since I installed the Airport update.

Strange. My AirPort reception improved after the update in most areas, though in some it got worse. I have no idea why.

As you can guess, I haven't seen any performance deterioration on either my iMac or Macbook Air since I installed the update and have seen great improvement in signal strength and ease of finding networks.

Well, it's installing now, so oh well. I'll report back in a matter of thirty seconds once it finishes booting.

On the trusty iBook now... :D
