Second internal hard drive / Applejacking / read + write errorssss

Have a mac pro 10.4 2 x 2.66 etc etc
Having a pretty hard time with my second internal HDD.
I can't copy some large image files from it onto my normal hdd.
It says read/write errors error -36.
Really annoying, need to get files off urgently.
Tried running applejack, but am unsure whether it managed to applejack BOTH internal hdds. Hmmm.
Any way to force applejack to applejack just the back up hdd if you know what I mean.
Please halp!
