Here it is...
I sold my Black Macbook to upgrade to the latest and greatest Black Macbook. I was having issues with the matte finish wearing off on the track pad and keys and the Apple rep said the latest Black Macbooks had a better finish and my resist the wearing a little better. Good enough for me...

So where does the Macbook Pro come in?

I ordered a Black Macbook from Amazon on Tuesday with 2-day shipping. I got in to my office this morning and a box had arrived from Amazon already! I could not believe it, the overnighted the mac. Upon opening the outerbox I began to notice the packaging was different and pulled it out to find a new 15 Macbook Pro. I really did not get too excited at first, because I wanted to call Amazon to see what had happened and to see if They needed to switch it out. The phone call was quick and easy and bottom line is they said I could keep it and enjoy it unless I wanted to have it switched!

I really could not believe it...now I do not have to worry about the finish at all!
Crazy, simply crazy!
Now I have to find a new case to house my Pro!
Honesty is the best policy!

It's hard to believe that Amazon would rather you keep the MBP and loose another $500 to $1000 than to swap it out. Unless you got a close out 2.2 or 2.4. Yes, which one did they sell you? Congrats!! :D

Actually I do believe that honesty is the best policy and would have returned the mac at Amazon's request, they made it sound like it more trouble than it was worth for me to return it and send out another computer.

As for specs...
2.4 C2D
200GB HD
2GB Ram, just upgraded to 4GB from my old Macbook.
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256mb
Superdrive
etc, etc...

Based on the model number, it looks to be the latest...MB133LL/A

They gave you the new 2.4 MBP instead of the new 2.4 MBB - a nice $500 upgrade for free. Unreal!

So what does your receipt and packing slip say? MB or MBP? I'm wondering where the error occurred, in the order entry system or the dude in the warehouse.

My receipt and packing slip say Macbook Black and has the amounts charged for the Black. I ordered the mac 4 minutes before the cut off time for 2-day shipping. Maybe they were rushed and boxed the wrong one?

the customer rep said sorry for the mistake.. he figured i was raving mad.. so he said i can keep the MBP and they will ship the AE overnight.

I believe it!

I had purchased a Weber grill from Amazon. It was one of their 6 burner stainless steel grills. The largest one they made but with none of the options. i.e. no side burner, no smoke box, no rotisserie etc. etc.

When the grill showed up, shipped by a commercial carrier ( tractor trailer ) it was the wrong one. It was their top of the line Weber grill. It had everything that the one I ordered did not. The cost was about $800 more than the one that I bought. The problem was the one that they sent was a built in model. So when they asked if I wanted to keep it, I refused. They sent the tractor trailer back to pick it up and sent a third tractor trailer to deliver the correct one.

All of this with their free shipping option.

Now if they had just been paying attention...

the packager was probably dumb and mistook the "black" on the receipt for the black macbook pro box. He saw that the Macbook Pro was 2.4 and just shipped it. :)

Man you are one lucky guy!! Maybe you did a very good deed in the past and your reaping the rewards!! Enjoy man, just enjoy!!:D
