HP 3140 Apps over AirPort

I have an HP 3140 printer to which my iMac can print over AirPort perfectly. When I try to run any of the other apps (scanning software, etc) from the install disk, the apps cannot find the printer.

What do I need to do to get them to see it on my network?
 
I have a 4100 and I've had no luck doing anything but printing over the network.
