The new iLiberty JB/Unlocker was released for the Mac today:

Anyone tried it yet?

I would check with the creator to see if it is compatible with the iPod Touch...if you remember ZiPhone had the problem with the endless stream during jailbreak, and then he figured out what went wrong...this just looks like it is iPhone compatible...

good luck to whomever dares haha

So far, I love iLiberty+! No, crashes, freezes, youtube works, everything is great so far. Definitely the best JB I've used so far. :D

What else have you used?
What size iTouch/iPhone do you have?

Everything seems to be great. Customize still needs some modding through terminal. Think that's more of an issue with the app than the jailbreak.

I have a 16 g Touch.

will give this a go next time a fill up / mess up my 16gb 1.1.3 touch.

what firmware did you have?

What firmware did your Touch have when you used this? I have tried ZiPhone on my 1.1.4 and can't get pass the BSOD.

1.1.4 Definitely do a clean restore, give your touch a new name, and keep iTunes open when you run iLiberty+ (I ejected it, though, and when it beeps and says itunes discovered an ipod in recovery mode just ignore until jailbreak is done)

do these things allow you to put your own apps written in the free iphone sdk on the ipod touch?

i'm writing an app that i want to test. i tried to apply for the $99 devel program (although it kinda pisses me off that i need to pay $99 a year to develop software for something i own), but i haven't heard back from apple yet and i want to get started.

the simulator helps, but, of course, you can't take that with ya.

i had an OTB 1.1.3 and it worked perfectly. I still had all the wobbly icons and stuff. But, the automatic restore mode didn't work for me so I held down the home button and plugged in the iPod to the computer and restored it that way. I was so happy when I saw that lovely Installer icon on my springboard. Then I checked my wiggly icons, and they were still there! Usually I have the worst of luck and these things don't work for me,

So apparently it has been JB and now what? I want to load some applications like Mail, Map, Wikipedia. Where does one start?

Thanks for the iLiberty+, OP. Worked flawlessly.

EDIT: It doesn't work insofar as I can tell. The MP3s on my Touch don't play; it's like the update erased the codec. Factory restore again.
