congratulations to the opera team for the hard work.
http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2008/03/26/opera-and-the-acid3-test

http://labs.opera.com/ will release preview version within a week or so.

well, most of us honestly thought webkit would be the first to pass, indeed quite surprising.

But its a very good thing for all users, IE8 defaults with standard mode, pass Acid2, opera and webkit both show great commitment to acid test, its very good from user standpoint.

Firefox probably will lands all those fixes after firefox 3, since releasing of version 3 is practically a much bigger priority.

And Im still quite glad since I believe firefox's rise in past 3 years has been the driven force of this whole revolution, and frankly, without cross-platform firefox, the users would be more tightly tied to windows as well.

well, looks like acid3 just made some change and put opera back to 99/100.....

I still appreciate the commitment. but seems webkit, opera, acid3 have some over frenzy going on....... :)

THe latest build of Webkit passes the acid 3 test!!!!

Not quite.

It gets to the 100/100 mark, but that alone does not qualify it as 'passing'. The final product is 1-2 pixels off 'perfect', and the animation is not perfectly smooth.

However, it is the first to hit the 100 mark validly. (The WebKit team even determined that the Acid3 test itself was flawed, and Opera scored 100 on the flawed one. After the Acid3 people fixed the problem, WebKit scored 100.)
