Hi everyone. I barely bought my Macbook yesterday. I was having some problems with my PC not recognizing my interface and since I needed a new computer anyways I just bought this one. The problem is that this one won't recognize it either (it's a brand new firewire cable by the way).

So my question is, how do I install it to make sure I did it correctly? I installed the driver, then I shut down my computer, turned it back on, plugged in the firewire, then turned on the interface. Did I do it correctly? I hope I didn't fry anything. (I'm buying a firewire hub to prevent this). If I DID fry it, then I can probably return it since I just bought it yesterday. Is it possible that the actual interface is the one that's messed up?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to macs and somewhat new to firewire devices.
