Two weeks ago, I wanted to install XP onto my Macbook. Had about 25 gigs of space left. So I used Boot Camp Assistant and made a 10 gig partition no problem. I then realize that the XP disk didn't have SP2 on it. So I undid the partition using Bootcamp to wait until I got one with SP2 on it. In the meantime, starting up my Macbook was weird ever since....if I left it on its own, it would have a black screen asking for a disk to insert, so I would have to hold down the Option key to boot from Macintosh HD.

I got the new XP disc with SP2 today, so I opened up Bootcamp to repartition it. It wouldn't work, said I had to repair the HD. So I restarted Leopard from the install disk and ran Disk Utility, unmounted Macintosh HD, and repaired both that and the main HD under the First Aid tab. I checked under Partition and it showed that Macintosh HD - the blue highlighted area - only took up most of the HD, but there was an empty white space of about 9+ gigs, close to what I partitioned for Windows a few weeks ago. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it whole again. Is there any way to do that without wiping out my existing OS X, programs and all? What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's "shadow partitioned", and I want to make it whole again before partitioning it for real again.

Don't Worry!

The blue bit is data that you have on your hard drive. (Videos, Music e.t.c)
The white bit is free space. When you partition (or at least try to) that white bit is moved to a different bit of the hard drive which you can install another OS on.
