Two weeks ago, I wanted to install XP onto my Macbook. Had about 25 gigs of space left. So I used Boot Camp Assistant and made a 10 gig partition no problem. I then realize that the XP disk didn't have SP2 on it. So I undid the partition using Bootcamp to wait until I got one with SP2 on it. In the meantime, starting up my Macbook was weird ever since....if I left it on its own, it would have a black screen asking for a disk to insert, so I would have to hold down the Option key to boot from Macintosh HD.

I got the new XP disc with SP2 today, so I opened up Bootcamp to repartition it. It wouldn't work, said I had to repair the HD. So I restarted Leopard from the install disk and ran Disk Utility, unmounted Macintosh HD, and repaired both that and the main HD under the First Aid tab. I checked under Partition and it showed that Macintosh HD - the blue highlighted area - only took up most of the HD, but there was an empty white space of about 9+ gigs, close to what I partitioned for Windows a few weeks ago. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it whole again.

In short, how do I fully restore the Macintosh HD to a single volume before repartitioning it again? Everything that I've seen so far is failing me.
