Anyone have success cloning a bootcamp Vista partition on the Penryn MBP? I keep getting disk error and will not start cloning.

I want to replace the stock hard drive with a new 320GB drive. I know that I can use SuperDuper for the Mac partition, but I hate to reload Vista from scratch. I was hoping the Winclone would work, but it doesn't seem to like my setup.

Any ideas or any other ways to accomplish my goals?

Thanks.

which version of vista, some have an 'image' tool (backup and restore in menu) built in. This can be used at install time instead of installing from scratch.

I have had the same problem with WinClone.

Take a look at this web site
http://www.bombich.com/ and netrestore.

I have not used this process yet but intend to do so shortly (within a week) building a new 250GB drive for a MBP.

Using this process requires some confidence and understanding of the relationships. This process sounds like it will work if done correctly.

It is not clear that it has been used on a Vista relocation. Also, it appears to not provide for re-sizing the Bootcamp partition.

Also there is a $50 product called iPartition that would allow you to adjust the partition size on a drive (you need to not boot from the drive that you are re-sizing partitions).

Hope this helps. Neil.
