I know that a time capsule (1 TB) can be used as a backup drive but can it also be used as a modem router?

My current router/modem is a D-Link DSL-G604T Wireless Router.

If I buy the time Capsule, will that eliminate the need for me to continue using the D-Link Router/Modem?

I mean, will it connect to the Internet for me as well as serve as a backup drive?

Furthermore, if I switch from ADSL (telephone line) to Cable Broadband (underground), here in the UK, will the Time Capsule work for me?

Some modem/routers are only meant to be used with the telephone line and some are designed for cable so i'm just wondering on this issue too.

Appreciate the help,

JH
