when i run vista... my computer gets soo hot i cant handle my hand there for more than a second before it starts to hurt

os x just gets pretty hot the hottest ive ever seen my computer run is 70
and i can hold it

makes me think that vista is running at 90 ish

oviously this is damaging to the hardware yes?
and is there anything i can do besides not use vista?

thanks

I'm not sure what you're doing in Vista, but the Macbook Pro has absolutely rubbish cooling. You could:

a) Hunt for a fan utility under Windows to run the MBP fans at full blast.
b) Run it under Parallels/VMWare and use smcFanControl to run the MBP fans at full blast.
c) Turn off stuff in Vista that may be ramping up system usage - Aero Glass, etc.
d) Use it on a laptop cooler

And of course

e) Trade it in for a laptop that is engineered properly.
