I am a newbie to developing, and I was wondering which laptop is best to develop with. I am interested mainly in objective c, java and cocoa, but must be able to work with c++, etc.

I guess I'm afraid of getting a 2.4 MB with 4GB RAM and find out that I won't be able to do those things...

Thanks

Theres not even a need to spec up to 4GB, you'll be fine coding on any of the entry level machines these days I believe. C'mon, I know Java has a reputation to chew memory, but its not _that_ bad:)

As a beginning developer, you want an iMac 24" plus a second 24" monitor (brand doesn't matter very much). Once your codebase goes over a few million lines of code, you'll want to switch to a MacPro ;)

Heh, yeah 24" iMac would be great and probably the next desktop I will buy, but I need a laptop for now :p (starting college, small budget)

Thanks for the answers
