Hi everyone.

I, like so many before me, am torn between the MB and MBP.

I will be using it for running Logic Pro, some C coding (but not especially intensive stuff), and playing occasional games (as well as standard usage)
Budget is an issue, but I can stretch to the MBP if needs be. I get education discount, so I'm looking between the base MBP and the medium level MB.

The main areas I am worried about are

1) Screen size - is the MB screen too small? It looks pretty tiny.

2) Graphics - how will the integrated graphics on the MB compare to my iBook G4? I don't want to take a performance cut when I upgrade. I won't be playing anything overly intensive, maybe World of Warcraft from time to time.

Thanks again for answering this for the nth time.

Depends how long you're planning on keeping the system.

For <2 years, I'd go with the MB. (I used to change out systems roughly every year)

For >3 years, I'd go with the MBP. (Haven't really had the time to catch my breath recently in school so I've been using the same desktop since college. It's been really nice to have a more powerful system to start with as I'm still cruising along today. If I had skimped earlier, that might not be the case today.)

Thanks.

One thing I'd really like to ask is about the graphics - I realise that the MB will not play today's next gen games, and it won't come close to the MBP.

How will it compare to my currant iBook though? (1.33 MHz G4, 756MB RAM) I really don't want to take a performance cut by switching to those Intel integrated graphics...

i would say go with the macbook pro and future proof yourself

also, i really don't enjoy the macbook's screen
