I recently upgraded from a 2.2 to 2.4 Macbook pro and decided to go ahead and copy my windows partition over. I created a partition that matched in size to one on the original machine. After doing this, I used disk utility to copy the partition on to the new machine with the old machine booted into targeted disk mode.

Everything is there on the partition, but when I attempt to boot it--it doesn't appear. I am thinking this might have something to do with the MBR not being present somewhere, but wanted to check here before I just reinstalled everything.

I haven't tried this before.. But did you may need to install windows and then copy all the files over to it at the same size.

I'm not sure if the install needs to complete before the MBR record is written correctly.
