I don't know if anybody saw this already but....

'Apple is expected to launch a high-speed wireless version of iPhone in the second quarter and to produce as many as 8 million of the devices in the third quarter, according to Bank of America. "

Here's the full article from CNBC.com

Since when is Bank of America an Apple rumors source?
B of A is also an investment firm. They need to know this so they can set stock predictions.

This quote is interesting...
"Our latest channel checks point to a significant production build of a 3G iPhone beginning in the month of June after a initial small build in May," he said in a note to clients.

any "analyst" who doesn't bother to follow apples' announcements and public statements of the top management enough to know that the 10m target is for 2008, not by end of 2008, looses any credibility by second paragraph :(

cnbc said:
Apple has said it expects to have sold 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. It said in January that it had sold more than 4 million iPhones since the phone was launched in June.

I will wait until Jim Cramer says it is not going to happen, then I know it will happen.

No, the quote is "by the end of" not "in" 2008. You're the one who as the quote wrong. It's the reason Apple gives sales figures from last June, not from January.

I guess Job's original "goal" is open to interpretation. This is the screencap from MWSF '07:

I, as well as thousands of others at the time, took that as there will be 10m phones in 2008, giving them a 1% market share. It doesn't mean they'll sell 10m, it means there will be 10m out there in the market.
