I have a Macbook C2D pre-Santa Rosa and I'm wonder what is the best memory config of the following three...

2x1GB (supports dual-channel addressing)

-or-

1GB+2GB (more RAM but loses the dual-channel addressing)

-or-

2x2GB (in my understanding, I'll get an actual 3GB recognized, but will this allow dual-channel addressing?)

Wow, could you point me to a more perfect study for my needs?! Looks like the difference between 3GB and 4GB is negligible, except for in the "RAM hog" test.

Thanks so much for pointing me that way!

The transition from 3GB to 4GB is negligible now, but expect greater differences in even a year from now. The extra $10 for 4GB is worth it.
