Errr... what?

Try typing it in Mac OS Leopard.

For whatever reason, it will say "uncontained" is wrong and will instead suggest "uncontainewd". I've done a google search for it which returns nothing, the dictionary has nothing on it, so my conclusion is... someone goofed writing the dictionary for the computer.

Although "uncontained" doesn't show up in the dictionary either... but then normally words with prefixes don't. Am I by chance just using the incorrect prefix? Incontained sure doesn't sound right... and it's also marked as wrong by the spellchecker.

Did I goof at some point in the pass and tell it to add uncontainewd to the accepted spellings list or does the spellchecker say "uncontainewd" is okay for anyone else too?

...

And then there's always the possibility that is a word and just so obscure not a single webpage uses it, dictionaries don't list it, but Apple's spellchecker has it.

...

Has anyone else found what appears to be misspelt words in the spellchecker's accepted list?

(Oh, and what category does this topic belong in? I thought about putting it in general Mac OS X but that seems to normally have more important/serious things discussed...)

I hadn't noticed that before. I don't tend to say 'uncontained' that often because it's poor English.
