hello all!!

i have a stack of dvds the size of the empire state building. A problem when trying to find a particular dvd. I have seen friends with movies on there harddrives in.avi format.

I also want this!! I was wondering if anyone, anywhere on this site would be able to hint me in the direcxtion of a converter or specific program i could use to put all of my movies onto my external harddrive?!

Thanks in anticipation of great replies!!

Sam

Yup the above mentioned programs are definitely the best for the mac. There is a program called popcorn (costs $) that allows you to convert files to other formats as well.

handbrake will convert dvd to like avi, but v9.2 is bugged and wont do xvid on intel. mac the ripper, will put the complete uncompressed dvd onto your handdrive sans region encoding and copy protection, both are free.

Visualhub seems to work best for me, but it costs $
