There is a really annoying bug that Apple introduced with recent iTunes updates.
I'm running 10.4.11 & iTunes 7.6.1 but the bug seems to also occur in Leopard.
Basically it's this... movies or TV shows recorded with a tuner (I use an Elgato Diversity with EyeTV) and saved as AppleTV format are compressed and/or stretched when played back in iTunes.
It is not an issue with the files or the way they are saved as they can be played back just fine in Quicktime as it has an option to adjust how a movie displays, iTunes has no such options.
See here to get a better idea of what I am talking about http://picasaweb.google.com/denandad/ITunesDisplayBug
I have now had to resort to moving my movie/TV library out of iTunes & use Quicktime to watch material. What a joke.
I contacted Elgato & they have apparently been communicating with Apple over the problem but Apple is not saying they will do anything to fix it.
I am not alone with this as there are many threads in the Apple Support Forums on the topic.
I would be interested to get others thoughts or comments on this bug.
