Well i installed boot camp and it didn't work out too well. I tried to install xp and it looked like it was installing but after it reboot i went to a black screen saying that i couldn't boot from cd press any key to continue or something along those lines.. after much troubleshooting i gave up and just deleted the partion.. now when i shut down my macbook and turn it on again i have to hold option and choose the mac hd to boot into it doesn't automatically boot into mac even though its the only option available. Thanks for reading.

Put in your operating system CD and there will be an application you can select called startup disk.
Then you can set it to boot from your hard drive again (at present it is looking to boot from a partition that no longer exists i guess)

Your most likely problem with XP not working is that you HAVE to re-format the partition during the XP install, or it won't boot. Lots of people miss that one =]

To fix your existing booting problem, go into system prefs/startup disk and select your OS X partition.
