iMac is just a bit sluggish now?

CANADA? eh?
Compared to when i got it?

how can i clean it up a bit and make it run smoother?

booting up and shutting down takes much longer

OnyX runs some system maintenance routines which may help clean house and speed things up a bit.

Download, install and run OynX: http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs2/english/download.html

Run the SMART and Verify Disk tests when prompted. If you get errors, exit OynX, reboot with your Mac OS X Install DVD, and run Repair Disk in Disk Utility.

After that, click on the Automation tab. Check everything. Click execute.

Reboot when everything finishes.
