OS X leopard slowing down on me

If it's noticeable slowing down, trying repairing permissoins. Disk Utility -> Repair Permissions.

Beyond that, there's OnyX, which is a good maintenance program.
 
How do you know it's slowing down? What are the symptoms? Is it slow immediately after a restart, or does it slow down after some use?

BTW, another strike against clean installs as a cure for everything.

since updating to 10.5.2 my iMac has slowed noticeably weather opening applications or just clicking around, I reinstalled the update, used matainence in OnyX and repaired permissions. Is the something I'm missing in onyX that works. I don't want to purchase disk warrior. Any recommendations?

I'd ask you the same questions as the post above.
 
It's most noticeably slow after restart but is not as smooth or quick as 10.5.1 at anytime. Theres some delay after anything is clicked. The iMac has 1 GB Ram.
 
Yes, restart on this disc. You will be able to run Disk Utility from the menu. You could also try fsck, which I find easier, but some find scary:

Restart with the cmd-s keys held down, until you see a black screen with white characters. After the text stops scrolling, at the command prompt, type:

fsck -f [including the space, return]

If any repairs are reported, run fsck again until none are reported. Then, at the command prompt, type:

reboot [return]
