Hey i was wondering if i got an iphone refurbished from ATT. Would i be able to return it or exchange it at the apple store or ATT without giving them an ATT number? like it says on the ad 30 days no questions ask return. So i was wondering if i hacked it for tmobile then just restored it and said something was faulty could i exchange it?

if it's jailbroken, just make sure you restore it. Also, Apple Store will look up your Serial Number to determine if you are with AT&T. You might be able to do it, but the Apple Store reserves the right to invoke the refusal to provide warranty support on the basis that you did the jailbreak and have not registered the iPhone with AT&T or unlocked said iPhone. 
i know that i might not from the apple store. But on ATT's ad for refurb iphones, it said if unsatisfied, send it back 30 days no questions asked. does that "no questions asked" include activation?
