Google Search in Desktop toolbar??

Is there any way to get a Google searchbox in the desktop toolbar so you can quickly search?
 
It should be there already if you're on Safari. If not go to view > customise toolbar and add it.

Then get Inquisitor - it's superb

Sorry - just re-read your post and saw 'desktop'. I don't think so, but you can have it on your dashboard.
