I movie help

hi,
i recently imported clips from my camcorder into I movie. The problem is that when I go watch via quick player...there are like 20 separate files (i assume from me playing and stopping and playing and sttoping when I was on vacatioin) How do I connect all of them so that I can watch 1 whole movie in I movie?

please let me know
 
Hi,

I don't really get, what you mean... But in iMovie 06, which I use, you need to drag the movie clips to the timeline. After importing they only sit there as clips, waiting for you to be dragged down to the timeline.

Is that you want to do?

iMove is the editor not the viewer for movies. You need to import all of those clips, do any editing you want to them, and then export the clips to a movie file. From there the movie can we via iTunes, quicktime or burned on to a DVD using iDVD

ok, i think almost got this. I have I movie 08. when I open it up, in the I see he project library,which has a slide show that I made from a party. I highlighted that project and "share" ---"export movie using quick time" this turned my slide show into a "movie" I can watch in quick time

now when i go to the imported video clips (which are under events)(not sure why) I try the same process above...."share" ---"export movie using quick time"...but its as if its reading my slide show. Did i miss something? whats the difference between events and projects? Its as if i cant export the events?
 
You will want to do all of your work from the project that you have created, not from events. Events are nothing more than the raw material imported from your camera. This could be video or digital pictures.

I name a project specific to the file i am trying to make; ie "Wife's birthday" and then add clips from events to make up the project. From there it can be exported. Think of events as your pile of wood and projects as your workbench.

There are some great iLife tutorials on Apple.com that can help you do some increasingly sophisticated things.
