Hey guys I'm new to the forum and the Mac!! I'm switching because I'm sick and tired of Windows and the problems, at every level!

My new 17" Hi Res Widescreen Macbook Pro will be arriving in the next week, with all the threads about problems / faults I wanted to make this thread to ask for all checks (Hardware AND Software) that should be performed on any new Macbook Pros.

This would let everyone ordering a new one to identify and sort out any problems with Apple within the grace period for returns/exchanges!

I realise most threads posted represent only a small number of units with issues (most people only post when they have issues with their unit) but I want to get things out of the way!

:D Thanks for your help and advice in advance! :D

Check for the yellow tint, cycle through the colors to see if any pixels are bad, also run 2 terminals and tax your CPUs for a couple hours with "yes" to see if you have heat issues.

Can you ran 2 terminals at the same tume ?
And what does the command 'yes' do? I saw that it gives a heavy load, but couldn't figure out how.

check and see if you have the same wireless problems that others have with Leopard and the MBP
